The Falling Sands donation wall is now in place at The Engine House, Highley.
We are very pleased to announce that the ‘helping hands for Falling Sands’ donation wall is now in place at The Engine House, Highley. A huge 'thank you' to all who donated.
The wall is installed on the outside wall of The Engine House at Highley, facing the railway. To see it up close, you’ll need to have a valid travel ticket or pass which allows entry to The Engine House.
The names of almost 3,000 individuals, businesses, community organisations, trusts and grant making bodies are on the wall, in acknowledgement of donations made to the ‘helping hands for Falling Sands’ appeal. This raised £397,000 towards restoring the SVR’s viaduct between Kidderminster and the rest of the line. The success of our fundraising was key to unlocking a further £853,000 of grant funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
